Our Story
Every great tequila begins with a great relationship. Peter, Joel, and Omar cultivated a genuine friendship over their love of tequila.
Our tequila is sourced from Ixtlahuacan del Rio, the Home of our Co-Founder, Omar Martinez.
The Agaves used in Pedro Furtivo come from family land, where they have been farming Agave Azul for 3 generations.
We only use mature, 6-year Pinas in the production of our tequila.
Pedro's Process
Harvesting
It takes a minimum of six years for Agave plants to reach full maturity.
Cooking
The harvested piñas are cooked in large ovens which softens the agave.
Extracting
Then, carefully crushed, juice extracted & is the primary ingredient for tequila.
Fermentation
Mix the agave juice with yeast & water, then let rest for 3-12 days.
Distillation
Tequila is typically double-distilled in copper pot stills to separate the alcohol from impurities.
Aging
Blanco (unaged), Reposado (aged 2-12 months), and Añejo (aged over a year)
